How the rules work
- Sentence case makes everything lowercase, then gives a capital to the first letter of each sentence (after . ! or ?) and to "I" on its own. Names such as London lose their capitals, so check them afterwards.
- Title Case gives every word a capital, except short words (a, an, and, the, of, to, in, for, on, at, by, or and similar) in the middle of a title. The first and last words, and the word after a colon, always get a capital. Style guides differ a little on which short words to keep lowercase, so check yours if it matters.
- Words in capitals such as NASA, and words like iPhone, are kept as they are in Title Case and Capitalized Case, unless all of your text is in capitals.
- Code cases (camelCase and the rest) drop spaces and punctuation and join the words. Each line is changed on its own.

How do I fix text I typed with Caps Lock on?
Paste it in and press "Sentence case". Then put capitals back on names and places by hand.
Does it work with accents and other languages?
Yes, for languages with capital letters, such as French, Spanish or German: letters like é and ß are changed using your browser's built-in rules. The Title Case short-word list is for English.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and the text is gone when you close or reload the page.
