How to rotate PDF pages
- Choose your PDF. You'll see a preview of every page.
- Turn the pages that need it. Use the arrows under a page to turn it a quarter left or right, or turn every page at once.
- Press "Save rotated PDF" and download the new file.
How it works
Every page in a PDF has a rotation setting: 0°, 90°, 180° or 270°. This tool changes only that setting. Nothing on the page is re-saved, so there's no loss of quality, and text you could select before is still selectable. Your file is never sent to our website.
Example
A 3-page scan where page 2 came out upside down and page 3 came out on its side. Page 1 is fine.
If a page already had a rotation setting, the turn is added to it. A page set to 270° that you turn right once ends up at 0°, the normal way up.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Only the page's rotation setting changes. The text, pictures and file size stay the same.
Can I rotate by 45 degrees?
No. PDF pages can only be turned in quarter turns (90°, 180° or 270°), so this tool works in those steps.
Do bookmarks, links and forms still work?
Yes. The pages stay in the same file and only their rotation changes, so everything else in the PDF is kept.
Why can't I rotate my PDF?
If the PDF has a password or security settings that stop it being changed, it can't be rotated. Remove the protection in the app that made it first (you'll need the password).
