Are my files really not uploaded?
Yes. When you pick a file, your browser reads it and the tool changes it on your device. The new file is made on your device too, and you save it straight from your browser. We never receive your files, so we can't see, keep or share them.
The first time you use a tool, your browser downloads the tool's code from our website, like any other part of a web page. That's code coming to you, not your files going anywhere.
Is there a file size limit?
We don't set one, because nothing is uploaded. The limit is your device's memory. Everyday PDFs are no problem. Very large files, such as a few hundred scanned pages, can be slow on a phone, and a computer will handle them faster.
Do the tools work with password-protected PDFs?
Mostly not. If a PDF has a password, or security settings that stop it being changed, the tool will tell you. Remove the protection in the app that made the PDF (you'll need the password), then try again. PDF to JPG can still open PDFs that only block editing, because it doesn't change the file.
Do you add anything to my files?
Nothing you can see. New PDFs made by merging, splitting or converting carry a note in the file's hidden details (the "producer" field) saying which tool made them. Nothing appears on your pages unless you use the page numbers or watermark tools.
